About Us

Our Mission

To connect the staff who are coordinating efforts within our amazing NHS and health and social care sector with people who can volunteer their skills and time to support them.

As the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic develops in the UK, we know that our amazing NHS will be under enormous pressure.

Over the past few weeks our team at Generation Medics have been approached by individuals who are retired health professionals, students in-training and members of the public with no medical training, all of whom wanted to support the national response to this pandemic.

As a group of NHS professionals and students, we wanted to find a way to support our amazing NHS through this challenging time. That's how this project was born!

Our aim is that “Volunteer for the NHS" will help bridge the gap between the NHS and people who want to help, and make a real difference to patients, colleagues and the nation.

A message from the frontline of the NHS

The NHS represents the very best of our country and society.

“Whenever and wherever adversity strikes, the people of the UK have a unique ability to pull together. The way that local communities support those affected shows the very best of our values and human nature.

“…it's at times like these when we realise how much the NHS represents the very best of our country and our society – people from all backgrounds and walks of life with different experiences and skills, pulling together for the common good."

We're connecting volunteers with the NHS

I am volunteering because everyone’s lives are precious – we must not allow the coronavirus to take away our loved ones or our way of lives!
