Non-Clinical Opportunities
If you are aged 18 or over and fit and well with no underlying health conditions, could you offer some of your spare time to help at your local hospital or community healthcare setting? The opportunities for non-clinical volunteers are varied and volunteers will be deployed to the areas of greatest need on a daily basis. Simple but vital tasks may include acting as a "runner" around the sites, supporting low-risk patients using an iPad/smartphone to call loved ones, replenishing stock, driving between locations, helping with staff wellbeing initiatives and offering general ward support.

The RBCH are asking for volunteers to help support the COVID-19 pandemic through a range of clinical and non-clinical roles. If you have any medical, clinical or ancillary skills (including housekeeping, portering and catering) and are willing to volunteer and use your skills to help click the link below. All volunteers must be fit and well, aged 18-69, without any medical conditions that increase your risk of serious illness from COVID-19 as listed in the Government guidance.

The Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust are looking to increase the number of volunteers across both their hospitals to provide support to patients and staff during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is more important than ever that clinical staff and volunteers work together to keep our families, friends and loved ones as safe as we possibly can until this crisis abates. The Trust currently has roles available in the following non-patient facing roles: - Portering (general movement of items, e.g. post, samples, furniture moves, meals, snack boxes, etc) - Laundry (folding, sorting, ironing, packing, drying, cage cleaning, etc) - Domestics (clean corridors) - Catering (restaurant cleaning, kitchen cleaning, loading dishwasher, making up snack boxes)

Buckingham Healthcare NHS Trust are looking for volunteers to support them in the COVID-19 response at one of their following sites – Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and Amersham. The volunteering roles the hospitals are looking to fill are in the following: Ward Buddy (to support ward staff and patient experience through non clinical tasks), Hospital Supplies Runner (help the teams take medicines and equipment between departments), External Environment Volunteer (support the Property Services team maintain the grounds and gardens).

You may also be asked to support with stewarding at flu vaccination sites and support the NHS with non-clinical tasks such as signposting people around a health site or helping them check in.
